March
monthly recap lets goooooo
Hi friends! I’m so happy to see you here again!
March was a bit slower for me than usual, so let’s get into it, yuh?
And if case if you needed a reminder,
The first week of March, I had tubal litigation surgery! This is something I’ve wanted to do since 2022. I know I have not wanted to have children ever since I was a teenager and have never changed my mind on it, though it was difficult to find a gynecologist willing to do it (especially in Indiana) on a woman who is unmarried and has never had children. It took a couple months to get a referral from my gynecologist, then meet with a surgeon a few times, talk about the procedure, sign the paperwork, then before I knew it, it was time to walk the walk and not just talk the talk :) It was done laparoscopically by inserting the camera through my belly button, then making two small incisions above the locations of the Fallopian tubes and removing them completely. My surgeon said they did complete removal, because complete removal (instead of burning or severing them) decreases the risk of developing ovarian cancer, which at first grows in the Fallopian tubes then spreads to the ovaries. As I'm writing this, I am three weeks post-op! The recovery period was quite fast as well. I was back to work six days after the procedure was done! Although I still feel a twinge every now and then from the internal incisions, I am well on my way to total recovery. I can return to the gym after the fourth week, which I am very much looking forward to :)
And what do you know, false spring aligned with my days off to recover, so I took FULL ADVANTAGE. My roommate Tre and I went to Central park and had a picnic, did some art and writing, and I lazed in the sun and did a guided meditation while soaking up all the vitamin D I’ve been missing these last few months :) The snow was still meting in some spots, and we happened to see these two men walking by wearing long white robes… idk what was going on there, but this is NYC so it definitely was not the weirdest thing to see haha

The next day was still sunny and warm, so Tre and I went to the park next door and set up camp, but not before hitting up Blick and a classic NY pizza spot :) I set up my hammock for the first time, got some reading in, and some nature observance, including a woodpecker and a beehive husk

The following weekend Tre and I frequented Olive Garden, Rockefeller center, then went and saw Undertone, though we were not that scared (or impressed lmao)

Made some high quality yum-yum’s:

cauliflower gnocchi with a red sauce, then veggie nachos with all the fixin’s
You ever heard of a battle of the bands being held in a boxing ring? Neither did I, until I saw it for myself.

And it was actually such a fun time! My friend Kelsey’s friend Gyome happened to organize the event, so Kelsey and I rocked on and cheered for our favorite bands! Intermission entertainment was covered by the Amazing Amy, who is an elderly contortionist and refuses to share her age, which I admire, but did tell us the secret to getting that flexible is a healthy diet and a stretching routine. Yep, I’m inspired to lock back in the gym now

I was invited to a DND campaign hosted by my friend and neighbor Mike! This is my first campaign and I’ve wanted to join one for a while! We’re all playing as monsters and the adventurers are the antagonists of the story. I play a siren who has the stat block of a succubus and harpy song combined with water magic :) Her name is Aelora, but that’s pretty much all I know. I’m still quite new to DND haha

Stripes got neutered! His recovery has been going well, though he’s much more subdued in the cone. We got a rare moment where Stripes settled in Tre’s lap and cuddled Walter, two firsts that happened within an hour of each other lol

The last weekend included a collaborative breakfast (yum) and Marvel marathon with Tre! I’m determined to watch the Tom Holland Spiderman movies, and apparently phases 1-4 are pre-requisute watching, so we watched the first phase on Saturday! By the end my brain felt like mush, but now at least I know a little about the marvel universe haha. My favorite out of phase one is Thor. What can I say, I like a strong, blonde himbo that has a thing for brunettes
CATTY COMPILATION

WHAT I’M WRITING
Same pattern as last time! I’ve been learning more about Human Design recently, and I’ve discovered I’m a Manifestor and work best in small, short bursts. So earlier this month, I sent submissions to lit mags, then queried my fantasy romance for a bit, and finally I’m here writing this blog for you. This has been a slower month for me, on both the social and writing side, since I was recovering from surgery then came down with a sinus infection the last full week of march, so I’m manifesting that I will be more productive in April lol
